Some information About Oil and Drilling Chemicals
Drilling mud, also called drilling fluid, in petroleum engineering, a heavy, viscous fluid mixture that is used in oil and gas drilling operations to carry rock cuttings to the surface and also to lubricate and cool the drill bit.
Oil Based mud additives (OBM) It functions very much like a visconsifier and aids in filtration control in oil and synthetic mud systems used to control borehole and oil well stability.
Aqueous drilling fluids, generally referred to as water-base muds, are the most common and the most varied of the three drilling fluid types. They range in composition from simple blends of water and clay to complex inhibitive, or clay stabilizing, drilling fluid systems that include many components.
